New Casco, as it was called in 1630 encompassed today’s Falmouth, Portland, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, and Westbrook. Today Falmouth is a suburb of Portland, Maine and is listed by “Niche” as one of the best places to live in Maine. Falmouth Foreside is noted for its incredible oceanfront homes, views, and the largest private bot anchorage on the East Coast. It includes Handy Boat, Portland Yacht Club, and Falmouth Town Landing. There are lots of fun places to explore like Mackworth Island that is open to the public, Presumpscot Falls Park, Gilsland Farm Audubon, and other gems that provide natural “get aways”. Falmouth is also known for its award-winning schools. Falmouth is always rated #1 or #2 in the state. My favorite restaurants are JP’s Bistro and Dockside Restaurant. Falmouth is a 5-minute ride to downtown Portland and its amenities.
